The Unsung Heroes of Grace

We live in an era addicted to celebrity Christianity. We act as if the kingdom of God advances on the backs of superstars, influencers, and massive platforms.

But when the Apostle Paul reached the end of his theological masterpiece, he didn't roll the credits on a list of celebrities.

In Romans 16, he spent 16 verses listing slaves, immigrants, wealthy widows, and tentmakers. He highlighted people like Phoebe, who bankrolled the ministry, and Prisca and Aquila, who got their carpets dirty hosting house churches and risking their necks for the gospel.

The Roman Empire ran on a strict ladder of status and power. The early Church completely subverted it. Nobility and slaves embraced as equals, united by the blood of Jesus.

The truth is, the gospel doesn't advance through microphones. It advances through the quiet, exhausted sacrifices of ordinary believers. The world honors the elite; the Church honors the faithful.
